24 kwi 2010 · Also, from your reverse description it sounds like VAM 1R (VAMworld - 1921-D VAM-1R) might match. VAM 1X would be very easy to spot, there is a huge cud on the obverse (as shown in the VAMworld pictures.

Often these cracks are extremely fine, present only on the latest die state coins, and need significant magnification to be seen. These cracks are like fingerprints, uniquely identifying specific dies and may help you identify earlier or later die states.
The scribbles seem to match, but there's nothing else on the attribution page – and the first two crack photos seem really significant to me.
27 gru 2023 · This 21-D VAM eludes me: the scribbles are distinctive, but I don't see a match; the die crack from the 1st left star to the end of the chin and the one from the nostril to the 5th star don't seem to have a match in the crack/break guide.
Look no further than an early die state 1887-P "Donkey Tail" that only displays a die crack, long before it shows displaced metal from the die break. I have one, but it’s not a Top 100 coin. And what about the discovery of the original die pair for the 1921-S VAM 1B "Thornhead" progression.
