I see that Windows sets the default output format at 16-bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality). Most of my music is in this format, but most of my movies use a 16-bit at 48 KHz format (named DVD quality in the Sound panel).
At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter - the sound quality difference is super minute, even using Windows to downsample super high res audio down to 44.1khz. Set the bit depth to 24, and the sample rate to whatever the maximum you normally listen to is (44.1 if you don't know).

16 lis 2022 · You can use a feature called "Stereo Mix" in the Windows Sound Settings to select two different output devices for audio. It's found at Settings > Sound > More Sound Settings > Recording. Typically, Windows 11 plays audio through one device at a time---whether that be USB speakers or wireless headphones .
And win11 allows me to go into sound settings (right click speaker icon at lower right corner of taskbar) and in it's sound options i can pick my enabled sound ports (spdif optical /analog etc) AND pick 24bit /96Khz bitrate for all of them AND STILL have Dolby Atmos enbaled.
