That is an immense amount of data. Theoretically speaking, it’s also the closest you can get to the original sound recording.

I've learned that I should set the bit depth to maximum my hardware is capable of and set the hz to 44khz because I only listen to redbook materials at the moment.
21 lis 2007 · Some CD players use multibit DACs (the bits are read in groups), and some use 1 bit DACs, where the bits are read one at a time. Having several DACs (one for each channel) is also becoming fashionable. Although 1 bit DACs are a modern trend, they are more susceptible to noise than multibit DACs.

Of course, you’ll have to pay extra for these higher quality products and services, but more bits are surely better right?

The hi-res 24-bit/96kHz or 24-bit/192kHz files should, therefore, more closely replicate the sound quality the musicians and engineers were working with in the studio.
