the only way to find the "exact" center of a village is with the NBT data. i'm not sure you can ping the data for a village in-game using the /data command, but you will be able to see the village center in the game data using NBTExplorer (for windows/java. not sure about other systems/versions).
I am building a long and twisty road and would like to know an easy way to calculate distance traveled by a character walking. Ideally someone would know the walking speed of the character. Then I could just time the travel.
