Drivers who operate within 100 air-miles of their normal work location normally will not be subject to the 30-minute break rule if they: Drive within a 100 air-mile radius of their normal work reporting location; Return to their work reporting location and are released within 12 consecutive hours; and
15 lip 2024 · Long-haul CDL drivers who travel outside of 100 air miles are required to take a 30-minute rest every eight hours and to log all of their activity during a 24-hour time frame. This includes everything from driving time, to fueling, to time spent in a sleeper berth.
The 100 air-mile exemption applies if a driver meets each condition previously summarized. If a single requirement is unmet, the driver must complete a log for the day.
