In this tutorial, we showed you two ways in which you can generate random numbers in Excel without repetition. There are plenty of other ways to do this. We leave it up to you to decide which way you find the easiest and most effective.
Random numbers without duplicates can be generated in Excel using two effective methods: the ‘Helper Columns and Ranking’ technique and ‘Advanced Array Formulas’. We will discuss how to use each method in the following sections.
One method is to enter the core set of numbers to choose from in one column, and use the RAND function to assign random decimal values to each number in another column. Then you can use an INDEX and MATCH formula with the LARGE function to extract random numbers according to their numeric rank.
