JFK is invariably the cheapest airport to fly to Europe. Heathrow is the highest traffic city pair so it tends to have the best off season deals despite the high airport taxes in London.
In regard to finding the 'cheapest points' city to fly into in Europe - it doesn't really work like that. For reward seats you pay a set price based on distance zones (with flying from East Coast Aus - all Europe basically being Zone 10 on these charts).
Usually you can find bargains to second-tier airports (e.g., Barcelona, Dusseldorf, Lyon, etc.) when airlines are having sales, and the rest of the time the cheapest flights are Amsterdam, Dublin, and Madrid.
