5 cze 2024 · BBB Scam Tracker has received multiple reports of scammers creating fake airline ticket booking sites or customer service numbers to charge travelers for rescheduling fake flights.
Unless you select known, recognizable sources like Priceline, Orbitz, etc... cheapflights.com is a complete scam. Scammer companies post low prices that do not exist. After you place your order, you'll get an email that says "Your reservation is still pending, you have to call us because there's an issue".
The perpetrators of this particular con take advantage of bargain seekers willing to believe in too-good-to-be-true airfares found online. But unfortunately, the victims end up paying a lot more—and get precisely zilch. Here's how to spot the grift and evade the grifters.
14 mar 2024 · Because Cheapflights.com is a comparison price site and not a travel agent, it doesn’t sell you the tickets. Instead, you buy tickets directly from the partners. Cheapflights.com has no authority to cancel or change your flight or offer you a refund. You’ll need to contact the partner that sold you the ticket.
It probably is a legit (i.e. legal) company but that doesn't make it a good idea to use. Airfares are rarely "live" and when you try to book, you are sent an email requesting more money for the higher fare. If you try to cancel, you will get your money back months later, if at all.
This company scammed me. They asked for £535 for direct flight and paid. Got an email to called them and then told me my outbound was not available. I requested a new flight and told me I had to pay £400 for a new one and the £535 offer was out the window.
