So I booked an award flight a few days ago and canceled it today. The miles came out of my account. After canceling, the miles were never redeposited, which was strange. I messaged them and AA is saying that they were reinstated. My miles never went back up and I didn't receive a cancelation email. Is this a common glitch?

We will reinstate your AAdvantage miles up to 1 year after the ticket issue date as long as you cancel your ticket before the first flight departs. If you cancel your trip on aa.com, your miles will be reinstated automatically in many cases.
