United accepts one item of ski equipment per customer as checked baggage. Equipment must be securely encased in a suitable container. Ski and boot bags that don’t contain ski-related items will be subject to any applicable service charges for oversized and overweight checked bags. We’re not liable for damage to water ski, snow ski, or snowboard equipment.
United Airlines charges $30 to bring your skis or snowboards with you if the total weight of your ski or snowboard bag remains under 50 lbs. Should your bag exceed this weight, you will be charged oversized baggage fees.
