The S-75 (Russian: С-75; NATO reporting name SA-2 Guideline) is a Soviet-designed, high-altitude air defence system. It is built around a surface-to-air missile with command guidance. Following its first deployment in 1957 it became one of the most widely deployed air defence systems in history.
Depicted Soviet supplied S-75 / SA-2 Guideline and SM-90 launcher operated by Egypt in 1985 (US DoD). The S-75 (SA-2 GUIDELINE) SAM system was developed by the USSR to provide a semi-mobile, widely deployable SAM system to complement the S-25 system in place around Moscow.

5 Images. Developed by the Soviet Union, the SA-2 has been the most widely used air defense missile in the world. In the Soviet Union it was called the Dvina; in the West it was known by its NATO code name, SA-2 Guideline (SA meaning surface-to-air).
The missile guidance system is relatively simple, comprising an autopilot and a command link receiver, with a missile beacon in the tail to facilitate tracking by the Fan Song radar. The command link channel produced four distinct pulse modulated waveforms.

Slender, cylindrical body of 2-stages, each with four large, cropped delta fins. The first, larger diameter stage is the solid-propellant booster and has a large protruding exhaust nozzle at the rear. The second stage is the liquid-propellant sustainer and ends with a pointed nose.
