Cost of Running Start By participating in Running Start students can save a lot of time and money towards their college education! However, this is not a completely free program. Tuition coverage: A students’school district only covers tuition for the number of credits approved by their High School counselor.

What is Running Start? •Running Start was created by the Learning by Choice bill in 1990. This bill determined that: •High School students can earn college credits. •Public School districts in Washington State pay for the tuition for the approved amount of college credits (for 100 and 200 level courses) for Running Start students.
