I don't have a credit card to get points or anything like that and not much interest in it either, but I'm wondering if I could gain anything by trying to accumulate the miles from my company's tickets. Would I be able to get a discount when I book a vacation by myself, for example?

Unless you select known, recognizable sources like Priceline, Orbitz, etc... cheapflights.com is a complete scam. Scammer companies post low prices that do not exist. After you place your order, you'll get an email that says "Your reservation is still pending, you have to call us because there's an issue".

It probably is a legit (i.e. legal) company but that doesn't make it a good idea to use. Airfares are rarely "live" and when you try to book, you are sent an email requesting more money for the higher fare. If you try to cancel, you will get your money back months later, if at all.
