Looking at the specs, AA is pretty much industry standard though when it comes to that cabin. Personally, I would go for PE if it costs about 1.5X-2x that of economy. PE isn't just about legroom. It also gives you the wider seat so you always get your own armrest.
AA does now have an actual Premium Economy class of service which is separate from MCE. You do get more legroom but the seats are wider and recline more too. The review linked in post 1 describes the differences, with pictures.

I was going to go Business by fares seem to have rocketed since the restrictions on travel ex U.K were lifted.
PE may be slightly better than Economy but nowhere as good or comfortable as Business class, there is no comparison. Business is the ONLY option.
Very good explanation. Far more comfortable than cattle class, but better value for money than business. PE is more cost effective although 3 x expensive than cattle class, it also isolates you fr the bad frustrating pax behaviour you encounter in cattle class. Definitely worth the money.

Unlike its business class, which varies significantly from one plane to the next, American's premium economy seat experience is fairly consistent across its fleet.
