27 kwi 2015 · The curate graciously agreed to roll back the ornate carpet between the choir stalls of the magnificent Carlisle Cathedral in northern England. Underneath was the marble tomb of Bishop Bell who died in 1496, a little over 500 years ago. Surrounding it is one of the best surviving examples of medieval brass work.

Bishop Bell is believed to have died in 1496 and is buried in Carlisle cathedral beneath a brass which is set in stone. What makes Bishop Bell’s burial interesting are the decorations around the edge of the tomb.
24 paź 2016 · In recent years the cathedral, at least among creationists, has become somewhat of an attraction because of creatures similar to dinosaurs that have been etched on Bishop Bell’s tomb. Richard Bell was a bishop at Carlisle Cathedral between 1478–1495.
Carlisle Cathedral is a Grade I listed Anglican cathedral in the city of Carlisle, Cumbria, England. It was founded as an Augustinian priory and became a cathedral in 1133. It is also the seat of the Bishop of Carlisle. Carlisle is the second smallest of England's ancient cathedrals.
