Perhaps you want to find all students in your school whose phone numbers do not contain the number five. Use the following search command: home_phone !contain 5. This instructs PowerSchool to go through each student record and return the records that do not have 5 in the home_phone field.
The quick student search enables you to quickly search for students by last name, first name, or ID number. You can search for a particular student or a list of students that matches your criteria. Quick search is available on every page of the system.

Advanced student search. You can search for a specific set of students based on the information stored in many of the fields found in a student record, such as Age, Birth date, Gender, names, telephone numbers, geocodes, Ethnic Category, grade level, Student Number, and SSN/SIN.
