DRIVERS TIME RECORD. If you want some of your drivers to use the 100 air-mile radius exemption, make sure that the driver meets all terms of the exemption. The company must keep a proper time record. The time record must show the time the driver reports for duty and the time the driver is released from duty, and the total hours on-duty.
If a driver is required to complete a log for: • 8 or fewer days within the last 30 days, a driver can use a paper log with a graph grid or an ELD • More than 8 days within the last 30 days, a driver generally must use an ELD to record time for that day Drive within a . 100 air-mile radius. The 100 Air Mile Radius Driver's Exemption Logbooks are for driver's who drive within a 100 Air Mile Radius. The term "Air Mile" is defined internationally as a "Nautical Mile". A "Nautical Mile" is equivalent to 6,076 feet (1,852 meters). 100 Air Miles are equivalent to 115.08 Statute Miles (185.2 KM).
