They are located in: Chicago, Illinois; Los Angeles, California; Sydney, Australia; While new players often wish to choose a realm matching their own time zone, those realms may actually be located far away from them.
I made a high-res terrain map of Azeroth, Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms and each individual zone - click here to download the full-size image. The maps are composed from the highest resolution minimap graphics which I exported from the game client and are compressed to lossless .PNG format.
