It wasn't just a few characters off or a typo, I put the name she commonly uses on, but it is not the name she uses on her passport (it's a fairly common variation, but it spelled totally differently). Any time you poke a ticket with changes, even ones you believe (incorrectly in this case) are benign, you should review your ticket. To my understanding, changing a name requires issuing all new tickets (the reservation confirmation number does not change).
8 kwi 2014 · The reservation was confirmed with a reservation number in my account, but it showed 'not ticketed' and other messages about waiting for the completion of internal processing. I believe you will need UA 'supervisor' approval to ticket this transaction in the system.
The reservation details for my flight visible in the United app and my "eTicket Itinerary and Receipt for Confirmation" email have my first name spelled incorrectly. However, my first name is spelled correctly in the "Passenger Information" email I received beforehand.
