Measure Distance on a Military Map. A graphic scale is a ruler printed on the map and is used to convert distances on the map to actual ground distances. The graphic scale is divided into two parts. To the right of the zero, the scale is marked in full units of measure and is called the primary scale.
Create any military map symbol (ADP 1-02) and add custom presets if you choose. Drag the symbol onto Google/Leaflet Maps and enable the MGRS overlay for operations planning.

The Measure tool will help you determine the correct size for the passage width. This will help determine the largest unit size that can fit between the obstacles. Click Measure on the map toolbar. The toolbar changes to the measure toolbar. Select the Measure a distance tool on the measure toolbar.
