Best thing you can do is warn off customers buying large quantities of gift cards (usually Target or Apple)or at least several. They almost always buy $500 worth since that’s the limit for the store to load GC’s - also watch for customers that are on the phone while purchasing said items.

One of the top people's secretaries at my job got a phishing email impersonating the owner asking her to go buy a bunch of $500 gift cards on a company credit cars for some of the big clients. She did and replied to the email with the info for him to "distribute" the cards to the clients online.
