All facilities are licensed by the Agency for Health Care Administration and inspected annually by AHCA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Each year millions of people pass the Florida Keys Memorial in Islamorada at MM 81.5 without realizing that part of its tribute is to the World War One veterans who died in the Keys building a bridge.
Veterans Key is 2.5 acres of high ground located at the tip of Lower Matecumbe Key and conveniently is only 850 feet from US1. An easement was granted by the State of Florida to connect US1 to the property if desired (see survey). It has 2 docks and is surrounded by navigable water.

FDVA has approximately 100 State Veterans’ Service Officers, known in veterans’ circles as “SVSOs,” co-located with the VA Regional Office in Bay Pines, each VA Medical Center and many VA Outpatient Clinics throughout the state. All outreach services are free to the Veteran.
