Here’s everything you need to know about checking in online, on your mobile device or at a self-serve kiosk at the airport. Check-In & Boarding Times Familiarize yourself with check-in and boarding times so you’re sure to have plenty of time to check in, drop off your bags and go through security screening.
If you check-in online and get your boarding pass electronically, and you skip the airport kiosk and check-in counter and proceed directly to the gate, you WILL need to approach the gate ahead of boarding to present your passport, assuming it's an international flight. They need a minute or two to run it through the system.
When prompted at check-in (online, on your mobile or at an airport kiosk), indicate that you are travelling without checked bags. At the airport, see an Air Canada agent to have your bags tagged and checked free of charge, upon presentation of military identification.
If online check-in is available for the airline you booked with, go for it instead of waiting for your turn at the airport counter queue. After online check-in, you'd get your boarding pass, print it, and just head to the boarding gate (in most cases, especially if you only have carry-on baggage).
