24 paź 2013 · The national mapping authority Ordnance Survey has used free OS Open Data products to build a virtual version of Great Britain for the popular ‘open world’ building game Minecraft.
Minecraft Map Great Britain uses 22 million blocks to provide a faithful reproduction of the British Isles in the building game Minecraft. It covers an area of 220,000 km and shows pixelated replicas of London, Mount Snowdon, the Outer Hebrides, and the Shetland Islands, among others - all based on real geographic data.
30 wrz 2013 · The staff at Britain’s Ordnance Survey have created a map of the United Kingdom for use in Minecraft. Called Minecraft GB, the file consists of 22 billion blocks. The map covers 220,000 square kilometres of mainland Great Britain and surrounding islands.
