The one I talk about in this post is the route from Topolobampo (the closest ferry terminal to Los Mochis) to La Paz, on the Baja California peninsula. There is a second route between Mazatlán and La Paz.

Return trip on the ferry , Mazatlan to La Paz. I would suggest you book well in advance, especially if you intend to book a cabin. We splurged one way and booked a VIP suite. Definitely worth it especially if sharing with four people.
No need to go early-no cars drive on until all the huge trucks are loaded. Passengers are held in line until some magic time when they are allowed to board in groups of 15-20. Be sure to book a room with your ferry ticket (s). Ferry is COLD and seats uncomfortable.
