Here's an ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION if you already had hardware acceleration enabled. This worked for me, because at some point I had forced Google Maps to 2D mode and forgot to revert it. Here are the instructions for setting it to 2D mode, as well as returning to 3D mode, which fixed scrolling for me:
It sends me on these long, circuitous routes that are filled with small, residential, private-looking roads and sometimes including dangerous unpaved roads. Why is it doing that? I don't see a setting to change it, is there something I'm missing?
