You can receive status upfront for 120 days, and then you need to complete certain flying and spending requirements in order to maintain that status through January 2025.
To keep the matched Premier status for the remainder of the 2024 program year, you will need to earn a certain number of Premier qualifying flights (PQF) AND Premier qualifying points (PQP) on flights operated by United or United Express ® within the 120-day offer period.
With needing to fly United, I'm considering applying for the United status match. I have ZERO intentions of meeting the requirements to keep the status long term. But am wondering if the temporary (120 days?) status will help with potential upgrade requests for their business class.
