23 lut 2022 · After receiving and considering input from the trucking industry on this question, FMCSA decided the ELD rule should allow a ‘100 air-mile radius driver’** to operate outside the 100 air-mile radius exception for no more than 8 days within any 30-day period, and still be exempt from use of an ELD.
Guidance: The term “air mile” is internationally defined as a “nautical mile” which is equivalent to 6,076 feet or 1,852 meters. Thus, the 100 air miles are equivalent to 115.08 statute miles or 185.2 kilometers.
