The best way to get to Portovenere from the Cinque Terre is by ferry boat. Portovenere does NOT have a train station.
Just to give you an idea, in 2024 a Portovenere and Cinque Terre roundtrip day pass costs 37 EUR/person for adults and 15 EUR for children aged 6-11 years. You can get an afternoon pass for 28 EUR.
