Columbia’s list in American politics and foreign relations publishes monographs and trade books of all methodologies and ideologies on the questions that animate contemporary political debate. We look for fresh arguments on political behavior and public opinion, policy, race and social issues, carceral studies, and US political history.
Preparation of the Manuscript. Be sure that your manuscript does not significantly exceed the number of words specified in your contract. Include references and notes when determining the word count.
Prose submissions should be 5,000 words or less, and poetry submissions can be up to five pages. We accept simultaneous submissions (even for our contests), but we ask that you please inform us as soon your work is accepted somewhere else. Find our full submission guidelines here.
