2 lip 2024 · Current Tax Rate. All persons owning property within the city limits of the City are subject to pay an ad valorem tax each year. The millage rate is set each year by the elected officials. Property tax bills are mailed in the Fall and are due 60 days from date mailed.
If the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday, bills will be due on the next business day. In order to avoid a 10% penalty and potential loss of service, payment must be received in City Hall before 5pm on the due date. See payment icon on home page for further information.
Any property owner of any qualified empty/vacant commercial or residential building who brings the building into compliance and pays city real property taxes in regards to a qualifying property will receive credits for all such taxes paid.
