I would recommend just finding the cheapest flight to Europe. Once you’re there, you can get a flight to Paris for like 100 euros max. Did this last year, flew through Lisbon and took a few days to enjoy the city on my way home. 100% recommend.

**Fly through cheap entry points into Europe** You're on the right track with Copenhagen. Other budget-friendly airports to consider flying into are London, Keflavik (Iceland), Dublin, Stockholm, and Milan, to name a few.
Budget airlines were at a peak around then right before the pandemic. I used multiple budget airlines to get from the US to Europe the last two years before the pandemic. It resulted in very cheap flights, probably the lowest I ever paid for distance traveled.
This is by far THE cheapest flights I ever found and you can look at prices for every day of the month. I found a $650 flight from California to Germany and the days both before and after were over $1200
Check out flights to the largest European airports and cities (London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, maybe even Istanbul but doubt that it'll be a good deal all in all) as well as cities that tend to be cheap to fly to/from (Lisbon, Barcelona) and take a cheap Ryanair/Vueling/Transavia/etc to your final destination.
