Welcome to Air Force ROTC Detachment 003. Since its inception at the University of Houston in 2003, Air Force ROTC Detachment 003 has commissioned over 70 Second Lieutenants into the United States Air Force from 15 colleges and universities in the greater Houston area.
AIR FORCE OFFICER QUALIFICATION TEST The Air Force Officer Qualification Test (AFOQT) is a standardized test that measures verbal and mathematical aptitude along with additional aptitudes relevant to specific career fields in the Air Force and Space Force. To qualify, an applicant must: Be a United States citizen. Have one year’s time in service (waiverable). Have one year’s time on station (waiverable). Be recommended by immediate commander. Pass AFROTC Physical Fitness Test. Be admitted to a school offering AFROTC. Have qualifying Air Force or Space Force Officer Qualification Test scores.
Air Force ROTC Curriculum. The Air Force ROTC has a robust curriculum to prepare college-aged students to enter the Air Force as Commissioned Officers. Note that cadets must participate in three years of AFROTC programming to meet graduation requirements.

Requirements. Cadets on scholarship must maintain a 2.5 grade point average, and cadets not on scholarship must maintain a 2.0 grade point average. All cadets must be enrolled full time as a student at a college that offers AFROTC classes or has a crosstown agreement with one. Air Force Officer Qualification Test.
