Between the points I have and a Delta credit, I could cover the entire flight at no out-of-pocket cost. However, I am also seeing some flights on airlines like Icelandair that are somewhat cheaper. Of course, then I'd be paying cash rather than points.
Miles prices generally align with cash prices. I recommend using google flights and setting up alerts for your itinerary, this will keep you informed on when prices are at their lowest. You can also use their price calendar to show highs and lows.
