All parking lots on CMU's Campus are designated for specific permits. Lot entrance signs designate which permits are required to park. License plates must face the drive lane at all times while parked on campus. Permits are virtual and automatically active when purchased online.

You will be proved a red parking tag (to leave in your vehicle) that allows you to park in the yellow lots shown above on the map. We recommend parking at lot 27 C (yellow lot) on Preston Street as it is next to the Park Library. This lot is a central location for the CMU campus walking tour.
A freshman is defined as a student having 25 or fewer earned credit hours. Resident parking permits are distributed to sophomores, juniors and seniors on a first-come basis. All freshmen will be assigned to the Maroon lots (63, 70 and 75) located south of their residence halls.
The 2024-2025 parking permit will be available online beginning August 5, 2024. When classes are NOT in session, (between academic semesters) parking enforcement will continue in all faculty/staff lots, metered/mobile pay, reserved, service drives, handicapped and fire lanes.
