I am building a long and twisty road and would like to know an easy way to calculate distance traveled by a character walking. Ideally someone would know the walking speed of the character. Then I could just time the travel.
13 kwi 2017 · A final and probably the fastest method is teleportation. Go to the nether, choose a direction and walk around 200-250 blocks, and build another portal. Distance in the nether is multiplied by x8 in the overworld, so you will end up about 1000 blocks away from your base.

Typically you would pillar up about 50 to 60 blocks, or climb a tall mountain, and use the direction and downward tilt angle of the target with your coordinates to calculate first the horizontal distance to the target, then the X and Z coordinates of the target based on that distance and direction.
