According to one blog I found, there is a no-AF option that’s available as a downgrade (not advertised on the Barclay website). It’s simply called the “AAdvantage Aviator World Elite MasterCard” (without the “Red”).

I'm thinking of signing up for the American Airlines aviator red card by Barclay's due to them having a hub in Philadelphia where I live and with a trip planned to France next year for my honeymoon. The card offers 60k points for making any purchase within 90 days with the $99 yearly fee.
