19 sie 2009 · Has anyone been able to replace International leaf spring bushings without removing springs and frame brackets from bus? I optimistically bought some Stemco/Kaiser install/removal tools to use with my air hammer not budging!
11 maj 2002 · I'm talking about 1980's and 1990's International S-series and 3800 chassis with spring suspension. On the rear springs, there are what I've been taught to call 'torque leaves' which are the leaves that come out of the big pack of springs, and go forward to the front hanger about 8" below where the top spring attaches to it.

3 cze 2009 · Labor-wise swapping the entire rear end seems like a ton of heavy work. Changing just the diff is not all that hard, but I've been at this for more than 20 years and we have all the tools and lifts. See if you can find a shop manual that shows the procedure. Common tools are used if the drop-in diff assy is set up by whoever you purchase it from.
11 mar 2024 · I would ask the spring mechanic what he recommends based on your max loaded weight. 8500 lb springs might be to harsh but if you are loaded to 10000 lbs the travel left on the 6500 l s spring may be too little.
