I don’t use cents per mile just compare the miles to the cash price; obviously that would give you cents per mile but I don’t think of it that way.

I was just wondering if booking a flight using air miles points has any disadvantages. I mean if a flight was overbooked, would a mileage redemption passenger get booted or downgraded first, or would their booking be honoured as a normal booking?
you're looking at a value of 0.15$ per air mile approximately, but most items if you compare the monetary cost vs the air mile cost, you get a lower value per air mile. I guess that's how they make their money too when you redeem for a reward.
