9 sty 2024 · American Airlines is out with another big update to its AAdvantage loyalty program. This time, the Fort Worth-based carrier has news for both elite and casual frequent flyers. It's offering new perks when earning Loyalty Points, the ability to use miles to upgrade with partners and much more.
New upgrade benefits. Coming later this year, you can: Earn miles on upgrades: Earn miles when you pay with cash to upgrade to a premium cabin. Upgrade with our partners: You’ll be able to redeem miles for upgrades with more airline partners in 2024.

Once you qualify for Loyalty Point Rewards in 2023, you can choose your reward any time between the date you qualify and March 30, 2024. This gives you the flexibility to decide when to choose your reward, based on when you want to use it.

It is a free program, and by signing up you can earn a range of benefits and gain the ability to earn free flights. Benefits are earned based on elite status. The 4 tiers of elite status in the program are Gold, Platinum, Platinum Pro, and Executive Platinum.
