18 lip 2011 · First step you want to do is take off the two valve covers - there is 11 bolts total on each one and the size is 8mm deep socket and a 13mm for only one bolt. take out your bolts and remember where each one goes so that you can put the harness clips back on the studs when you are finished.
14 sty 2010 · I'm fairly new to modular motors and have some questions concerning the 4.6 SOHC design. I recently purchased a 2002 mustang gt, bone stock. I've been doing some research and have found that the 2v 4.6 has a problem with leaking headgaskets under boost, but it seems that the 3v and 4v motors don't have this problem.
22 lip 2016 · I'm trying to find what exactly is the 1/4 ET and MPH record for a stock bottom end 4.6 2v, so I can potentially beat it. I know sharkbait has the sbe 2v record at 10.1, but that's a 5.4L, and there has been a 9sec. sbe 3v, but I can't find the sbe 4.6L 2v record.
13 cze 2018 · The modular 4.6 can be a difficult motor to time IF you decide to "do you own thing". That's why I would recommend using the Real Ford service manuals as the PRIMARY reference when working on modular motors.
22 wrz 2009 · Put the engine in safe mode, adjust the cams to where they need to be according to your timing diagram (Chilton's, Haynes, Ford, or Fig 1, below), then put the engine to #1TDC. At this point, the lines on the two smaller crank gears will point to 6:00.
6 lut 2007 · I always get 1.9 second 60ft times on street tires (auto) spinning through 1st gear and second. On slicks it's an easy 11 second car with a full weight Auto 2000GT. I also purchased the Allen kit for around $1000 less than what the KB kits are sold for around here.
25 lis 2007 · Either way you go with the connectors, you need to make note of the polarity. The 2V COPs have 180* polarity switch that of the 4V. Just another thing for Ford to make the 4V a little different than the 2V. If you look on your 2V COP you will see a ?B+? on the receptacle, if you look on the 4V COP, the B+ is on the other side.
