The Yenisey, also romanised as Yenisei or Jenisej, is the fifth-longest river system in the world, and the largest to drain into the Arctic Ocean. Rising in Mungaragiyn-gol in Mongolia, it follows a northerly course through Lake Baikal and the Krasnoyarsk Dam before draining into the Yenisey Gulf in the Kara Sea.

Map including the Yenisey River. The Yenisey proper, from the confluence of its source rivers Great Yenisey and Little Yenisey at Kyzyl to its mouth in the Kara Sea, is 3,487 km (2,167 mi) long. From the source of its tributary Selenga, it is 5,075 km (3,153 mi) long.
The Yenisey River proper is divisible into three principal sections: the 295 miles (475 km) from Kyzyl to Oznachennoye on the southern edge of the Minusinsk Basin, the 544 miles (875 km) from Oznachennoye to the Angara confluence, and the 1,328 miles (2,137 km) from the Angara confluence to the sea.

The Great Yenisey (Russian: Большой Енисей Bolshoy Yenisey; Tuvan: Бии-Хем Bii-Xem) is a river in the Republic of Tuva, the right source of the Yenisey, at its confluence with the Little Yenisey.
