18 maj 2015 · Flight level is a set constant altitude of flight referred to as a 1/100th of altitude in feet, e.g. FL350 (35,000 feet), FL270 (27,000 feet), etc., where FL is contraction of “Flight level”. Even flight levels (300, 320, 340, etc.) are used for westbound flights, whereas odd flight levels (310, 330, 350 etc.) are for eastbound flights.
FL180 and FL300 stand for Flight Level 180 and Fight Level 300. Flight levels are spaced 100ft apart on an altimeter that is set to the standard sea level pressure (QNE) of 1013.25 hectopascals or 29.92 inches of Mercury. So indeed, FL300 means 30,000 ft.
