All along the recommended cycling courses (Marked by dotted lines on the reverse map) are these designated signs indicating the location of the cycling route.
Blue line ensuring you never get los. A blue line indicates the recommended cycling route from the JR Onomichi Station to the JR Imabari Station. This blue line, said to have been invented for the Shimanami Kaido, is a roadmap for cyclists visiting from all over the world.

The Ikuchijima leg of the cycling course is relatively flat, and features the most wellknown bridge of the Shimanami Kaido, Tatara Bridge. The island features citrus groves, and historical and cultural attractions. The Suigun Skyline is the site of a steep cycling course for advanced riders.
