Answer 1 of 328: What is your experience booking flights with Orbitz? I am flying Venice to Bari Italy and the Alitalia flight booked through Orbitz is much cheaper than booking throught the airline directly.
Prices are about the same now, orbitz used to be a lot cheaper. I still use orbitz to get an overview of many carriers, schedules and prices, then check airlines sites, then decide where to buy. OTAs also occasionally still have cheaper flights than airlines, used to be always cheaper.

If you can get the same fare, it is better to book with the airline. However, if Orbitz has a better price, you can decide whether booking with the airline is worth the extra cost. Personally I've used Orbitz a number of times and never had an issue.
