This book presents research that applies the Google Earth Engine in mining, storing, retrieving and processing spatial data for a variety of applications that include vegetation monitoring, cropland mapping, ecosystem assessment, and gross primary productivity, among others.
Google Earth Engine combines a multi-petabyte catalog of satellite imagery and geospatial datasets with planetary-scale analysis capabilities and makes it available for scientists,...
27 mar 2024 · The Google Earth Engine (GEE) is a cloud computing platform designed to store and process massive datasets, often reaching petabyte scale, for analysis and decision-making purposes (Kumar and Mutanga 2018).
1 cze 2020 · The free-to-use GEE platform provides access to (1) petabytes of publicly available remote sensing imagery and other ready-to-use products with an explorer web app; (2) high-speed parallel processing and machine learning algorithms using Google’s computational infrastructure; and (3) a library of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) with de...
8 mar 2019 · Since its inception in 2010, Google Earth engine usage was investigated using articles drawn from a total of 158 journals. The study showed a skewed usage towards developed countries as compared to developing regions such as Africa [ 1 ], with Landsat being the most widely used data set.
Our main findings are as follows: (1) The number of GEE-related articles has increased rapidly, with nearly 85% of them published in the last three years; (2) The top three domains where GEE has been extensively applied are earth and planetary sciences, environmental science, and agricultural and biological sciences.
