Near the bottom of the screen, to the right of the presser foot icon is the stitch width, and stitch length adjustment.
You can use any foot - and for some machines that aren't set up for quilting, the zipper foot is ideal. You can start by marking your seam allowance/stitch line on your fabric and that will help you get a better sense of how to line up the zipper foot properly.
