With its short length (1.6 miles roundtrip to the falls), low crowds, and massive reward (30-foot tumbling waterfall), it’s an easy add-on to your Smoky Mountains itinerary. Spruce Flats Falls is unique because you can walk right up to the base.

My room was huge and came with a balcony. After a power nap, it was time to walk to Sugarlands Distillery for a taste. $5 for 12 samples is one of the best bargains in the Smoky Mountains.
