Just bought 100k miles with the bogo sales offer to get my account to 250k miles for a trip from Oregon to South Africa in Polaris. Miles hit account within seconds. Used my United infinite club card for purchase. So a flight that shows $20k retail cost me less than $3k. Worth it.
Outside of it being against the MileagePlus Terms and Conditions, miles are currently on sale on UA's website for $0.035/mile or less (before extra bonus miles). This person is attempting to screw someone. Scam and stupid at the same time.
