Arrive at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure time of your child’s flight and speak with a ticket counter agent. Children traveling alone can’t check in online or at the kiosk. You’ll need to fill out an unaccompanied minor form and any necessary Customs and Immigration documents for the day of departure.
Children must be eight (8) through fourteen (14) years old to travel unaccompanied on connecting flights. Reservations must be confirmed to the final destination and may not include a connection to the last American Airlines or American Eagle flight of the day to the specified destination.

UMNR itineraries that include invalid connection cities or other airline flight segments may result in the American flight segment(s) to be canceled in the PNR. Unaccompanied minor services are required for children 5 -14 years of age (15 -17 years are optional).
